Whistler Canoe Tour With Canadian Wilderness Adventures

Summer is headed our way, and the BC bucket list of adventures is never ending. With an ocean, mountains, forests and trails surrounding us, Vancouverites and visitors get their pick of adventures on a daily basis.

We've showcased some amazing local outdoor activities and micro adventures you can plan this summer, but one of our favourite things to do is head up to Whistler and hang out with our friends at Canadian Wilderness Adventures. These guys know how to play outdoors. We've gone ATVing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and snowshoeing with them, and we always have an amazing day out in nature with their guides.

They recently invited us up to try their new Canoe Tour. Of course we cleared our calendars and joined them. Here's our River Of Golden Dreams Canoe Tour recap....

After a quick breakfast in Whistler Village we swung by the Canadian Wilderness Adventures HQ to check in and sign our waivers for the day. We were signed up for the 10am River Of Golden Dreams Canoe Tour, a perfect way to start a Sunday of adventuring.

Voted the number one thing to do in Whistler, the river is an enchanting lake to lake meander with gorgeous mountain views and wildlife to observe along the way. Starting at Alta Lake we made our way through lily pads and along bends of overhanging greenery, transporting us to another world. Navigating the stream is easy as you're going with the current and your guides teach you the basics or hop in your canoe with you, so this tour is perfect for adventurers of any level that just like being outdoors. Although you don't have to, jumping into the lake is permitted and on a hot summer day we don't know why you wouldn't.

Make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and pack water if you head out on a beautiful day like we did. Unless you choose to jump in, it's fairly safe to say you won't get wet on this tour, and if you bring cameras or cell phones the guides bring dry bags to place them in for the couple of twists and turns where the river does pick up speed - just in case.

Thanks to Taylor Roades Photography for capturing all the fun we had and thanks again to Canadian Wilderness Adventures for another amazing day out. You guys know how to enjoy life, we appreciate the invite to join in the fun with you.
